The new blog …

I’m starting a new blog as a project to myself.  Ever lose a passion for something you’ve done your entire life?  Maybe it’s because a chore now, but I used to love writing code – anything at all.  It was a novel, new toy, powerful and limitless.    This blog is an attempt to rediscover what I used to love about computer science.  To quote Alan Kay, “The computer is simply an instrument whose music is ideas.  The biggest barrier to improving education for children … is the completely impoverished imaginations of most adults.”

So the goal?  The goal is to just write about what I know, what I’m learning and invite others to join me in the discussion.  Honestly, I doubt this blog will ever be read but it doesn’t really matter – that’s not the point.

The posts will largely be what’s relevant to me these days – that is to say I won’t be stretching out for topics I don’t think.  I’m finishing off my masters with a class on analysis and a class on artificial intelligence so you can look to see the blog flush with articles and questions on those subjects for the next six months I’m sure.  My thesis has been largely abandoned as I know longer believe in the research.  Whatever new thesis I come across will also likely pondered here.
